Image Processing Scientist (Machine
Learning)
Position ID: M-04-01
Seeking an image-processing scientist to work as part of the medical
image-processing group at STI Medical Systems, Honolulu, Hawaii, on the
development of a Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) system for a new medical
imaging modality. The new medical imaging modality uses hyper-/multi-
spectral imagery for the early detection of cancer. The image processing
scientist will provide his expertise in classification (broad knowledge
that should go beyond artificial neural networks), fusion (broad knowledge
that should include fuzzy logic and expert system approaches) and machine
learning approaches to the CAD system development. The image-processing
scientist should be able to demonstrate good programming skills in MATLAB
and/or C/C++. The image-processing scientist should have a Ph.D. with
thesis work in image processing. Some (2-4 years) industry experience
would be a plus.

Imaging)

Senior Accountant

Job Description
Seeking an accountant to work in a complex, dynamic, and progressive accounting
environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing
and analyzing meaningful financial statements, consolidations, maintaining
multi-company accounting systems, ensuring compliance with DCAA, CAS,
GAAP requirements, providing internal audit functions, and other related
accounting responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 6 years of hands-on, full-cycle
accounting work experience. Previous job-cost or Government Contracting
experience is highly desirable. Other musts include recent audit experience,

Accountant

Job Description
Seeking an accountant to perform and handle full-cycle of accounts payable
function in a moderate to complex accounting environment. Responsibilities
include compiling, analyzing, coding, and processing all invoices for
payments; reconciling, investigating, and resolving invoice discrepancies;
ensuring invoices are properly, promptly, and correctly recorded; maintain
organized vendor files; maintain a good working relationship with the
vendor community; prepare accounts payable repots; and other related responsibilities
as required.

Mechanical / Electrical Engineer

Seeking multidisciplinary Mechanical / Electrical Engineer to work on
new medical imaging device product engineering and development in a dynamic,
cutting-edge, start-up environment at STI Medical Systems, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, hands-on mechanical
and electrical design, fabrication, testing, and integration of mechanical
and electro-mechanical devices and systems; determination and implementation
of customer specifications and documentation; and 2D/3D CAD / SolidWorks
drafting / model creation.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at
least 4 years mechanical / electrical design engineering experience. Must
have strong fundamentals in engineering principles and product development
process. Previous optical / medical device development experience is highly
preferred. Other musts include positive attitude, critical thinker, excellent

Senior Medical Device Systems Engineer
Position ID: M-04-06
Job Description
Seeking versatile Systems Engineer with extensive experience in medical
device product engineering and development in a dynamic, cutting-edge,
start-up environment at STI Medical Systems, Honolulu, Hawaii. Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to, project / product management of multidisciplinary
teams consisting of 5 to 10 engineers; leading product development through
systems engineering / design control process; determination and implementation
of customer specifications and documentation; leading internal / external
meetings, presentations, and reviews; hands-on design, fabrication, testing,
and integration of complex systems; proposal development; and general
understanding of various physics / engineering disciplines.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Master's Degree preferred),
at least 10 years medical device Systems Engineering experience, and at
least 5 years project / product management experience. Must be familiar
with IEC 60601-1, FDA, and other systems requirement specific to medical
device development. Previous experience with optics and integrated hardware
/ software product development is highly preferred. Other musts include

Physicist / Optical Engineer
Position ID: M-04-07
Job Description
Seeking Physicist / Optical Engineer to work on new medical imaging device
product engineering and development in a dynamic, cutting-edge, start-up
environment at STI Medical Systems, Honolulu, Hawaii. Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to, hands-on optical / electro-optical /
opto-mechanical design, fabrication, testing, and integration with specific
emphasis on hyperspectral / multispectral system design, prototyping,
and production; tissue optical property determination, analysis, and correlation
to fundamental physical principles for various tissue types / disease
states; proposal development; and general understanding of various engineering
disciplines.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's or Doctorate Degree in Physics, Optics, Engineering, or
equivalent with at least 5 years experience. Spectroscopy optical design
/ development / build experience using ZEMAX required. Previous medical
device development experience and experience with tissue optics is highly

Business / Financial / Marketing Analyst

Research Scientist
Position ID: R-04-09
STI Research is seeking an entrepreneurial Scientist for a unique opportunity
to help build a new program in applied molecular imaging. STI Research
is initiating a program in novel imaging techniques for application to
in vivo imaging of different molecular processes and targets. Major research
and development interests include gene arraying, bioinformatics, molecular
probe design, imaging and computation. Candidates should have experience
in 1) molecular biology, 2) chemistry, 3) biomedical engineering, 4) high-throughput
screening, or 5) in vivo imaging. In addition to an aggressive entrepreneurial
spirit, the appropriate candidate will have a PhD in Molecular Biology,
Chemistry, or similar, and preferably, post-doctoral experience. Industry
experience is a plus. Good written and oral communications skills are
essential, and a history of competitive funding awards is desirable.
